ELECTION COMMISSION

Meeting Notices & Ballot Content

The Election Commission is a separate, court-appointed body that administers the November 3 election. It publishes its own meeting notices, schedule, and ballot questions — those are not committee notices, so we do not post them here.

Colorado Towns That Already Incorporated — Recording

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the committee handed the room to representatives of Colorado towns that already made this decision — what the transition cost, how the roads and the county handoff went, and how much of what came afterward was theirs to decide. They do not live in Niwot and they do not vote here. Their remarks are their own and are not the position of the committee. The full recording is posted.

District Court Orders Incorporation Election for November 3, 2026

The Boulder County District Court (Case No. 2026CV30306) found that the Niwot incorporation petition meets all requirements of Colorado law and ordered an election on the state general election date, November 3, 2026. The court appointed six Niwot residents as election commissioners: Lois Adamson, Vicky Dorvee, Susan Fischer, Paula Hemenway, Robert Olsen, and Amanda Walker.

The order confirms a territory of approximately 1,857.789 acres (2.903 square miles), about 4,306 inhabitants, and about 3,643 registered electors — well above the statutory thresholds for incorporation. Voters will decide both incorporation and the election of nine charter commissioners at the same election.
